I’ve just put a new clip on the Damon and Hunter page. In this one they speak, and tell us about how they met and the first night they spent together. There’s also some kissing and cocksucking. I think it’s very sweet.

I spent the day loading and logging interviews; Damon and Hunter’s and Ashley and Kisha’s to be specific. Both of them ran nearly two hours, which meant nearly four hours (we shoot a two-shot and a close-up for all duet interviews) in the edit bay just to load the material.
Usually this is a set it and forget it operation, and I use the time to catch up on other work, but this time I sat through loading the master shot of both interviews. I wanted to see if the interviews (which were shot over two months ago) were as good as I remember. In fact, they were even better. All the things I remember from the day we recorded were still there, right where I left them. But the was so much more, passages I’d forgotten, or more subtle moments I simply didn’t see while I was caught up in the task of conducting the interview.
The “braintrust” has given me some very useful feedback on Xana and Dax, but since I’ve got plenty of other work to do, I’m going to let it be for a few more days. But I’m torn as to whether I should spend those days loading and logging some of the February interviews, or begin parsing what I’ve already got loaded up. It would be great fun to start working on the stuff that’s already on the harddrives, but it would be just as fun to hear the rest of the interviews. No point in deciding now. I expect the answer will wash up on the beach sometime tonight, and I’ll find it when I take my morning walk.

Mrs.C has sequestered herself at an undisclosed location for the next week, leaving me to run the household. I don’t mind not having her help with the cooking, cleaning, shopping, etc., but not having her here to proofread my blog posts will undoubtedly prove embarrassing.
Friday I sent off a full-length rough cut of Xana and Dax: When Opposites Attract to my “brain trust”, and have been receiving feedback all weekend. After I let it sit for a few days, I’ll take another look at the film with their comments in mind.
In the mean time, I finally get to dig into the footage we shot in January and February! I want the X&D disc to got out with at least a couple of trailers for upcoming work. Of course working with the new footage will give me ample opportunity to create teasers and previews to put on the Web site.

Courtesy of Mrs.C, my blog has a new design that is more consistent with the rest of the site. She’s left it to me to populate the sidebar, and I’ve got more than a few people and places that I owe a tip of the hat. Of course I’m sure once I start monkeying with the side bar I’ll mangle the Blogger template and have to go crying to Mrs.C for help. In the universe of the things I’m good at and the things she’s good at, computers and especially anything internet related goes in the “things she’s good at” category.

At 51 minutes, Xana and Dax: When Opposites Attract is still too long, but at least now it’s got the right shape. The 17 minute “love story” is now fully intercut with luscious lovemaking, bringing it up to about 22 minutes, and the balance of the run time is given to an uninterrupted look at their lovemaking.
What remains now is to take a hard, unsentimental look at the whole thing and ruthlessly remove everything extraneous – even if it’s good. My hope is that by the time I’m done, 51 minutes will be more like 45 minutes. This is the part where you have to fall out of love, and imagine yourself as the arms akimbo viewer. If it doesn’t flow, it goes, no matter how nifty it is on its own.
Once that’s done, we’ll lock the video and begin mixing the audio. Shooting in New York City has its own, very frustrating audio challenges, and in a funny way audio is less forgiving than video. But making a film sound good is as important as making it look good.
In the meanwhile, I’d invite you to watch a clip of Xana and Dax showing and telling why doggy style is their favorite position for getting Xana off. Her orgasm is a little subtle, but don’t worry, in this segment she gives a nice play-by-play so you don’t miss it!
