What’s up Jane?
A Kvetch:
Jane doesn’t like us, or doesn’t know about us or I don’t know what, and I’m frustated by that. For the past many years, about every six months I fill out there submission form and send it off. The last time (about 2 months ago) I saw a referral from what looked like a janesguide.com webmail box come into the site, but that’s about the only evidence I have that Jane even knows we exist.
Now I’m not saying that ComstockFilms.com is the ultimate real life, real lovers, real sex website on the internet, but a quick scan of what Jane likes leaves me scratching my head wondering how she could have missed us, or if she hasn’t, what it is she doesn’t like about us.
Jane, if your listening, what gives? Are we doing something wrong in the application process? Don’t have your link in right place? Or do you just think we suck? (Actually, I suck quite well, thank you very much.)
Jane? Are you there? Jane?

You know, it took them something like nine months to get to me. I was beginning to get a complex when I saw blogs that came after mine get reviewed after only sending a link in a week before.
My only suggestion is to keep on asking because once someone does answer you, they’re all quite lovely.
I think if they didn’t like you, you’d know it because they’d say so. I’m guessing they just have a backlog.

It seems to be very hit and miss.
I have a theory, though, that if you have an obscure or new blog that doesn’t get much traffic you are likely to be listed before blogs that are more established or well known.
When I submitted ours we were getting very little traffic and we were listed within 24 hours whereas other more established sites were having trouble getting listed.

Same here, humph, join me in eating some worms…:). Jane doesn’t want to know me either.

I have jotted down this baffling situation in my book of Life’s Great Mysteries.
Not that I ever solve them. I just like to keep note of them.

I would not panic too much about this TC the real women like Wendy and myself are captivated by your “porn” your blog and YOU and MRS C so please don’t worry over a silly review. I love you, you gave me something very special and I will be writing about it soon on my blog … perhaps tomorrow when I have time to think about writing.

Ha, at least we’re in good company. I put up a link to Jane’s Guide from the very beginning of ErosBlog. Asked them for a review several times. Nothing. Meanwhile, I have seen *dozens* of new sex blogs get a Jane’s Guide review within weeks (while they still have less than a dozen posts, sometimes). Oh, well, go figure.

I had to pester them too, but once they saw me jumping up and down, they were very nice.

Ell and Bacchus both? I am good company!
Still, Jane’s been around a long, long time (almost as long as I’ve been putting sexy images on the internet), and that lends an aire of authority to Jane’s picks. But if Ell isn’t on Jane’s Guide, and Bacchus isn’t in Jane’s Guids…well maybe I’m just feeling slighted over nothing.
But I want that “Jane says…” button anyway

I haven’t been following super closely, but Jane herself has been going through some life changes in the last year or so; I’m sure she has staff that do reviews but perhaps it is part time or whenever they get a chance.
I hope I’m not speaking out of turn or spreading misinformation…

Over a two year period I submitted multiple requests for reviews and repeatedly sent email that never received a reply.
My server logs show that they had crawled master-bob.net, and I know that they read the emails that I sent. So why no answer? Why no review?
Is it my website? Does it suck and can’t be viewed unless a person is using a certain O/S and browser? Could something wrong with the website have prevented the reviewers from checking out master-bob.net?
I don’ t think so. I use some pretty powerful tools to ensure that master-bob.net can be viewed with anything from a Mac, to a PC, to an Etch-a-sketch - besides, the code behind everything is the same frikking code that I used on another website that was awarded a quality and original rating. Hmmm…
Is it because I run a cookie cutter website, don’t have original content, or am hosted on a freebie server? Nope - over 230 pages of entirely original content that is hosted on a high speed server with a dedicated IP and real domain. That can’t be the problem, and I made sure that Master Bob ensured that the website stays clear of all of the reasons that Janes Guide says would prevent a review.
I used to care about Janes Guide, but to be frank, the lack of response from them, the overall quality and lack of consistency of their ratings made me question if the ratings are worth anything.
