Tony Comstock in 75 Words or Less
I was just over at Chelsea Girl’s Pretty Dumb Things and was amused to see she’s as flummoxed as I am at the prospect of writing a 75 word bio for a blog reading we’ll both be performing(?) at. Actually, I’m more flummoxed. She’s managed to rattle off a half dozen possiblities.
But one thing’s settled after reading her blog entry – I absolutely will be wearing my Schott jeans to the reading! Here are the details:
WHAT: NYC Perverts’ Saloon
WHEN: Monday, April 3rd - 8-10 pm
WHERE: Galapagos, 70 North 6th street, Williamsburg. L to Bedford Ave
WHO: A family of strangers are New York City’s Sex Bloggers - online writers, telling tales of their sex lives in this City. Parents in their 40’s, sex workers in their 20’s, professionals with 9 - 5 jobs or stay-at-home dads - male, female, straight, gay, lesbian, bisexual - these writers’ narratives have one thing in common: they are sexually explicit. You’ll find stories that twist real-life narratives together: parents helping their kids with homework, then later, deflowering a stranger of his anal virginity; tensions on the train to work, then helping a friend’s wife to orgasm. Their tangled tales of exploration and conquest, freedom, exhibition and love will be told aloud and in person for the first time when the bloggers show their faces and read from their work at the New York City Peverts’ Saloon.

Sounds like a really cool event. I know in Montreal we have various blog and podcast meet ups but none specifically about sexuality. Lucky you to be in such a big city for such a thing! I have been having NYC envy lately.

For as big a city as it is, for years New York has had a surprisingly low-key sex scene, and we have, at various times, been envious of the culture and goings on in San Francisco, New Orleans, and even (very much in fact) Montreal. I think a lot of the allure is the idea of going somewhere else and shedding one’s skin for a while.
At any rate, you and yours should come down to NYC Seska. Thriving sex-scene or not, it’s always a romantic city!
